Olivia Brierley
Pilates teacherOlivia Brierley is the founder of The Mindfulsoul studio and is passionate about supporting and educating others about women’s health.
Olivia is as a Level 3 Pilates instructor and has become the go-to Pilates instructor in London known for her unique style of teaching.
Olivia’s philosophy stems from the significant lack of understanding around women’s health and believes everyone deserves better access to education and resources to support both physical and mental wellbeing. People have been served unhealthy and misleading myths around wellbeing – the all too familiar detox diets, skinny teas and food fads. Olivia believes we need to be educated on the importance of movement, our menstrual cycles and pelvic health.
For years it’s assumed in the health and wellness industry that what works for the male body also works for the female. Women are offered pink versions of mens exercise and and are served up the same type of training. Olivia wants to create a female focused approach to physical and mental well-being.

In regards to the personal training, Yaz’ main focus is working with female clients of all ages and tailoring their programming based on important factors such as their age, their ability and their goals. Another focus of hers is to make sure that their training is adapted where needs be in regards to their cycle and what phase they are in.

OUR LATEST STORIES
Late follicular phase: (day 6-14) World averages can be a lot longer and this phase can last between 10-22 days.
The late follicular phase starts after your period and ends after ovulation has occurred; this is why world averages are a lot longer as women with longer cycles may not ovulate at the same time every month.
It’s called the follicular phase because your pituitary gland releases a hormone called Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), which stimulates the follicles in your ovaries to mature. During this time, estrogen and progesterone levels start to rise and the uterine lining builds back up.
Your energy and mood are often higher. Cramping and other symptoms that occur during the menstrual phase are not classically present during this phase. Due to the rise in energy, you may feel more social and outgoing.
Physiological effects;
Increased strength and muscle building potential
Increased mood and energy
Increased recovery and reduced DOMS
Increased knee ligament laxity and risk of ACL injury around ovulation
Training focus;
Power and strength
HIIT
Emphasis on warm up and caution with sport and exercise involving rapid change of direction
We have so many classes on our platform that you can dive into during your follicular phase and we can’t wait for you to try them.

These classes are designed to stretch your hips and spine, strengthen your glutes and pelvic floor to support your pelvis, and prepare your body for labour. We’ve also included a strong focus on upper body work to get you ready for feeding and holding your baby.
We can’t wait for you to give them a try!
